Do Not Allow People To Push You Into Prophesying
The wise man speaks only when it is necessary to do so.

Introduction
From time to time, people go to a minister for consultation. They are all ears to hear prophecies by the minister. Some people keep themselves busy moving form one minister to another, in order to get revelations.
Some ministers see prophecy as a mark of great honour and public esteem. Therefore, such ministers always want to prophesy in order to impress people. Such practice is both misleading and dangerous.
As a minister of God, you must not allow people to push you into prophesying. You should note the following points and details:
- You should prophesy only when God gives messages.
- Do not prophesy when God has not said anything.
- Do not prophesy with the intention to impress people.
- Do not prophesy just because people want you to prophesy.
- Do not prophesy to get money or wealth from people.
- Whenever God is silent on an issue, then understand that silence is then the best answer.
- Learn from Moses, who always waited to hear from God before giving instructions to the Israelites.
5 So Moses brought their case before the LORD.
Numbers 27:5
Penalty For Violating The Sabbath
32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. 34 They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him.
35 Then the LORD said to Moses,” The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp." 36 So, as the LORD commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died.
Numbers 15:32-36
- Learn from David, who always inquired from the Lord, before doing anything. That is why David is the man after God’s heart. He sought to please God always.
And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. I Samuel 30:8
And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron. II Samuel 2:1
- Learn from Jesus, who did not come to do His own will, but to do the will of the Father.
Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. John 22:42
- Learn from the Holy Spirit, who neither adds to nor subtracts from what God has said or ordained.
“I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” John 16:12-14
- Now, learn from myself, who is the Lord’s content and container.
I have come neither to do my own will nor to change the laws and prophets. I have come to do the will of my Father, who is the Lord Almighty, who is Love, Loving and Beloved.
- Emulate Jacob, who when he needed prophesy, went to Bethel again and waited for seven days before God spoke to him.
- Do not be in a hurry, to get message and to prophesy. The Lord is never in a hurry. Instead, He is fully and perfectly prepared in advance, even when there is no time left.
- Emulate Elijah, who had to travel forty days and forty nights in order to travel to Mount Carmel to hear from the Lord, and God answered him.
- You may explain to give details of a message, but do not digress far from what the Lord has said.
For example, it is wrong to start telling somebody that he shall make millions, travel overseas, become one of the richest men on earth simply because God said He is going to bless the person with propserity.
- While prophesying, do not compete with another minister of God. Avoid trying to say many things in order to prophesy more than another minister. Do not try to do or say things the way the person does. Do or say whatever you have to say as God directs you.
- When you prophesy, do not speak based on the appearances of people, according to who appears to be stronger, richer or taller. Prophesy according to what God has told you in spirit. That person who appears in a very rich and flamboyant dress may be a wretched poor man from a far away place. Listen to what Jesus is saying, "My people are indeed blind because they choose not to see. They see a very weak person and say the person is strong (because the person appears strong). And they see a person who is spiritually strong and say this one is very weak (because the person simple or tolerant)."
- Do not assume. The fact that a person is always present within church premises does not mean the person is a saint. Today, many who are witches or in secret society parade themselves among the church members.
